Paul David Houston's review on Xampu:
"Honestly though, it wasn’t the characters in these stories that caught my attention, rather it was Cruz’s art. Cruz artwork is so damn good in this book. It’s hard to categorize. His style while similar to a few different contemporary artists (Munoz, Risso, Bachallo to name a few), is completely his own beast. I’ve honestly never seen a style like this before. It’s dark and chaotic, but heavily detailed with a near genius level craftmanship. The use of heavy blacks and the amount of detail from front to back really makes this art come alive. Every page was a true thing of beauty."
